Mincey commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their second commitment of the weekend on Sunday after they hosted an instate prospect an on official visit this weekend.

Offensive lineman Gerald Mincey (6-5, 324, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Cardinal Gibbons) committed to Florida over Florida State and Miami among others following his official visit to Gainesville.

“I’m committing to the University of Florida,” Mincey said in his commitment video

Last month, Mincey picked up an offer from the Gators during Florida’s cookout and it was an offer that the lineman was glad to pickup.

“I was happy to get the offer,” Mincey said. “It just means that I have to keep working hard the same way I got it. I can get it taken if I don’t keep working hard.”

The offensive lineman joins lineman Jovens Janvier who committed to the Gators on Friday after he was on camp working with offensive line coach John Hevesy.

Mincey is the 14th commitment in the class of 2020 and marks the ninth commitment that is from the state of Florida.
