Memphis defensive line transfer Cam’Ron Jackson has committed to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators signed 20 prospects in the Class of 2023 and Billy Napier made it very clear that they were going to continue to add to the roster via the transfer portal.

On Friday, the Gators did just that when they added Memphis defensive tackle transfer Cam’Ron Jackson (6-6, 340) who announced his commitment on Friday.

“I’m coming home,” Jackson tweeted.

Jackson will provide instant depth at defensive tackle where the Gators need numbers, and the defensive lineman has two years left to play.

As a redshirt sophomore this season, Jackson had 41 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss while also accounting for two sacks.

Jackson just entered the transfer portal on Thursday and several teams had reached out but the defensive tackle chose the Gators because of the ability to play next season.

The Gators will continue to look to add more transfers on the defensive line as well as the offensive line and could even try and add a tight end to the class.

Louisville defensive line transfer Caleb Banks and Wisconsin quarterback transfer Graham Mertz have both already signed with the Gators and will report to campus in January.
