Scrimmage
There were three turnovers in Friday’s scrimmage.
Receiver Dre Massey and running back Jordan Scarlett had good scrimmages on offense.
On defense, McElwain pointed to Vosean Joseph and Jabari Zuniga as the most impressive.
The offense was explosive in the run and pass games.
Quarterback Luke Del Rio had a little more pep in his step after being named the starter.
Injuries
Running back Jordan Cronkrite is being held out after getting banged up in the scrimmage, he should be back Thursday.
Receiver C.J. Worton is still out with a leg injury, he should be back by the end of the week.
Offensive lineman Andrew Mike is still out, there is no time table.
Receiver Kalif Jackson is still going through rehab.
Offense
McElwain said the offensive line is stronger at every position this season.
Offensive lineman Kavaris Harkless will be back at practice today.
Sacks have not been an issue for the offensive line so far this fall.
The coaches are hoping to narrow down the receiver rotation this week.
Defensvie end Bryan Cox is in some of the offensive goal line packages.
McElwain said it will be important to get Massey and Powell on the field at the same time.
