M’Bake shocked by Florida Gators offer on Tuesday

On Tuesday the Florida Gators handed out a few new offers including one to an underclassmen receiver.

2022 receiver Samuel M’Bake (6-3, 205, Bradenton, FL. IMG) picked up one of those offers on Tuesday when he talked to two Gators coaches.

“Coach Dan Mullen and Coach [Billy] Gonzales offered me,” M’Bake said of which coach from Florida offered him. “They liked how I was a deep threat receiver and they like my size and my play scheme.”

The Georgia native was excited to pick up an offer from the Gators on Tuesday.

“The offer means a lot to me, I was very shocked,” he said on what the offer means to him. “They have a very explosive and fast pace offense and the way Florida uses their receivers is phenomenal.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales explained to M’Bake on Tuesday just how he would fit into the Gators offense.

“How I would fit great in their pass scheme,” M’Bake said on what Gonzales told him about fitting into Florida’s offense. “The conversations with the coaches at Florida have been beyond football, we have actually been talking more about life and stuff with this COVID-19.”

Head coach Dan Mullen also explained to M’Bake why the Gators like his game and what he does well on the field.

“He loves the way I play at my size,” he said on his talks with Mullen. “Especially being a tall lengthy guy and he loves my short game and deep game.”

M’Bake is close friends with one of the Gators 2021 commits and he’s recruiting the receiver to Gainesville.

“Chief [Borders] that’s my big bro, he really wants me to come and be a part of the Gator family,” M’Bake said on his relationship with Florida commit Chief Borders. “I was there next to him when he committed, it was very surprising because he did it while we were taking a picture with Coach Mullen.”

The Gators have some strong competition for M’Bake who has several other SEC schools after him.

“Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, NC State, Arkansas, and South Carolina,” he said on other schools recruiting him hard. “It’s mandatory that I visit Florida again.”
