Mascoll likes the vibe he gets from the Florida Gators’ coaching staff

On Monday night, the Florida Gators handed out several offers to prospects in the 2024 class in hopes of getting them on campus for a visit this spring.

Offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll (6-5, 278, Atlanta, GA. South Gwinnett) picked up the offer after he talked to the Gators’ offensive coordinator.

“Coach [Rob] Sale offered me on the phone,” Mascoll said of who offered him on Monday. “That was really my first time talking to him, he texted me earlier in the morning and introduced himself and asked if it was ok to get on the phone later that night. We got on the phone, and he broke the news to me.”

Mascoll has picked up several offers as of late and is fresh off of a visit to LSU but he says an offer from the Gators is a big one to him.

“It means a lot,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I’ve been wanting that offer since last year. The staff they have down there is great and they’re headed in the right direction, and they have two offensive line coaches, one of the few programs that have that.”

Sale didn’t get into a lot of football things with Mascoll on Monday but was more introducing himself and trying to set up a visit for the Atlanta native.

“It was a quick call, he was telling me he wants to me come on a visit down there and that I had an offer from them,” Mascoll said on the message from Sale. “It was quick, I know when I get down there, I will get to know more about him.”

Mascoll hasn’t visited Gainesville yet but he says he already has a good feeling about Florida because of the coaches.

“I don’t know much in-depth about the program yet, it’s just the vibe I get from Florida,” he said on what he knows about Florida. “I like the coaches and I haven’t even been down there yet.”

Now that Mascoll has an offer from the Gators, the lineman says he plans to visit Gainesville this spring to see the coaches in person.

“March 28th,” Mascoll said on when he plans to visit Florida. “I’m going down there to watch the practice and to see how the coaches coach and to really get to know them and see what they’re about.”
