Marks has high interest in the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators are still looking to add a running back to the Class of 2020 and when the Gators hosted Vanderbilt, three of the Gators targets were on campus for the game.

Mississippi State running back commit Jo’Quavious Marks (5-10, 190, Atlanta, GA. Carver) was on campus for the first time this fall and enjoyed his time in Gainesville.

“It was a good visit,” Marks said of his visit to Florida for the Vanderbilt game. “I just went to the game, talked to the coaches. It was pretty nice down there, I liked the atmosphere, the coaches vibe and the players treated me like family.”

While on campus, Marks talked to several coach and also received a message from head coach Dan Mullen.

“I talked with Coach [Greg] Knox and Coach Mullen,” he said on the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “He [Mullen] said he needed me and how he could use me as a back. He was talking about what you can get out of Florida’s academics.”

Running backs coach Greg Knox also explained to Marks what the Gators liked about his game and how he could fit into Florida’s offense.

“Coach Knox said that I’m an all-around back,” Marks said on the message from Knox. “He likes how I can catch the ball out of the backfield, run between the holes and block. He said he wants me to come to Florida.”

Marks learned a lot about the Gators during his time in Gainesville and he says his interest is high in the Gators now.

“I have high interest in Florida,” he said on his interest in Florida. “They’re a family program and top 10 in academics and top 10 in football. There’s a lot of stuff going on at Florida with my major sports medicine too. Florida is the place to be at for that.”

Despite being committed to Mississippi State since last spring, Marks says he plans to visit two other schools officially for he makes a December decision.

“I’m going to take my official visits next,” Marks said on what’s next in his recruitment. “I’m going to Louisville this month and then I’m going to Florida and Mississippi State too.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Marks said he plans to sign early in December and he looking for whoever makes him feel at home and makes him feel like family.
