March 8th visitor list

The Florida coaching staff has been pretty quiet this week with the Gators on spring break and the coaches getting a little breather before practice starts but that will all change on Saturday.

Will Muschamp and his coaching staff are taking advantage of Billy Donovan and the basketball team’s big game against Kentucky on Saturday afternoon by bringing in five top football prospects.

Defensive end Byron Cowart (6-3, 248, Seffner, FL Armwood) will make his first trip to Florida since last fall and the Gators are hoping to continue to gain momentum in his recruitment.

Defensive end CeCe Jefferson (6-3, 2 60, Glen ST. Mary, FL Baker County) has become a regular in Gainesville and will make his second trip to Florida in a month after just visiting Florida State this past week.

A first time visitor will be in Gainesville this weekend in Alabama defensive end commit Mekhi Brown (6-4, 230, Columbus, GA Carver) who has been trying to visit Florida since his freshman year but will finally make the trip this Saturday. Brown is good friends with Florida receiver Marqui Hawkins who also attended Carver High School in Georgia.

Brown will have two teammates on the trip with him, brothers, in 2015 safety Khane Pass (6-1, 195, Columbus, GA Carver) and 2016 quarterback Jawon Pass (6-5, 225, Columbus, GA Carver) who are making their first trip to Gainesville.

The younger Pass picked up a Gators offer in January and is one of only 3 quarterback who offensive coordinator Kurt Roper has offered for the Class of 2016 class.
