The Florida Gators hosted some of the top 2028 prospects in the country last Saturday for the South Carolina game in the Swamp.
2028 receiver Tyree Mannings Jr (6-0, 170, Venice, FL. High) was on campus and enjoyed the experience despite the loss.
“It was great, the atmosphere is great here,” Mannings Jr. said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “The coaches are great; they have good vibes with the team. I just love it; I’m not going to lie.”
Mannings Jr would have liked to see a win but he says seeing the team fight back in the coming weeks is something he wants to see.
“A loss is a loss, I mean the SEC is one of the biggest conferences, they played great at times today,” he said on the loss. “The loss doesn’t change anything for me, they’re going to come back from that. I want to see them fight back from adversity.”
The 2028 receiver continues to come back to Gainesville for visits and he says the coaching staff is a big reason for that.
“The way the coaches treat the players,” he said on what stands out about Florida. “The way the team is a brotherhood. I also see an opportunity for myself. The best players are going to play.”
After the game, Mannings Jr spoke with the coaching staff and they had a clear message for him on how they’re going to recruit him.
“I still got to talk to the coaches, and it was great,” Mannings Jr. said of talking with the staff on Saturday. “They have a great vibe; it was great talking to them. They said that they’re going to recruit me till I get here and that they aren’t going to stop.”
Heading into the visit, Mannings Jr had two schools leading the charge but he says one school has a lead over the one out of those two.
“Florida and Oregon, they haven’t changed,” he said on his top schools. “I like Florida more, I’ve been to Florida more, I’ve only been to Oregon one time. I’m supposed to go to Oregon in two weeks.”
