Lovett likes the attention the Florida Gators’ staff puts on the OL

Several offensive line prospects were in town on Saturday as Billy Napier and his staff continue to put a lot of focus on landing prospects in the trenches.

Offensive lineman Bryce Lovett (6-5, 330, Rockledge, FL. High) was on campus and was able to see the Gators’ new dorms and watch practice.

“I got to see how they practice and stuff,” Lovett said on what he was able to see during the visit. “Practice was live, I love how they practice. They learn something and then go to practice, and they teach it one-on-one. They get to use what they learn.”

Lovett was also able to watch offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton in action for the first time and he liked their coaching style.

“It’s good because every time I come here, I get to learn more about how they do things,” he said on Sale and Stapleton. “Seeing practice, I got to see how they coach so it’s good. They teach you but they don’t yell at you. They only yell at you if they have too but they teach you instead of just yelling at you the whole time.”

After the visit, Lovett says the Gators made an even bigger push for him because of how focused this staff is on the offensive line.

“They were already a top school like top 2 or top 3 but after getting to see all of this, it’s even better,” Lovett said on where Florida stands in his recruitment. “I don’t really have an exact leader right now, but I like that they take pride in the offensive line. They have like six coaches for the offensive line, they have a weight coach just for the offensive line.”

The lineman hasn’t narrowed down his list yet, but he says five schools in particular are doing a good job of recruiting him.

“Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa State, Florida, and Louisville,” he said on schools standing out to him. “I don’t really have a top five, but those schools are consistent and always keeping in contact.”

Next up will be official visits for Lovett as the lineman would like to have a decision made in July if possible.

“I’m trying to set up official visits with Louisville and Missouri,” Lovett said. “I’m working on it [scheduling an official visit to Florida].”
