Lorenzo Lingard will enter transfer portal

Gator Country has learned that Lorenzo Lingard will enter the transfer portal. Lingard is a graduate student, meaning he can enter the portal before December 5th.

Lingard took to Twitter and Instagram this morning with a caption stating, “It was real Gainesville.”

The five-star running back from Orange City Florida spent the last three seasons with the Florida Gators after spending his first two years with Miami.

The speedy running back struggled to find the field for Florida during his three seasons as a Gator. Lingard ran just 26 times for 150 yards and a touchdown across 33 games played.

Lingard started 2022 off the depth chart but worked his way into a RB3 role. The rise of Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne killed Lingard’s snap count.

Lingard totaled just 43 rush attempts since entering the college ranks in 2018 as injuries have set him back. Lingard ran with a purpose when given opportunities at UF, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he picks a school where he can ensure playing time, as this may be his last opportunity to showcase his skills.

Lingard has one year of eligibility left.
