Lewis has the Florida Gators “on top” after his visit to Gainesville

Offensive lineman Ramier Lewis (6-7, 360, Clearwater, FL. American Collegiate Academy) was on campus on Saturday to watch the Florida Gators take on Alabama for his game-day in Gainesville.

Lewis who reclassified to the 2022 class from the 2021 class has been to a camp with the Gators, but Saturday was the first time for him to see Florida live and he was impressed.

“It was great,” Lewis said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “The offensive line did good, the defensive line made great stops. It was a good game. It was closer than I thought it would be.”

Everyone was impressed by the Swamp on Saturday and Lewis admits the atmosphere impressed him from the beginning.

“It was great, I got chills,” he said on the atmosphere in the Swamp. “As soon as it started my ear drums blew out. It was loud, a lot going on.”

Lewis watched Dan Mullen’s offense closely on Saturday and he liked how they moved the ball against a good Alabama team.

“I think it was good,” Lewis said on his impressions of Florida’s running game. “He [Mullen] knows what he’s doing, he kept scoring. I saw a lot of receivers open and running backs running through holes, the linemen creating a gap for the running backs. I thought it was a pretty good deal.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy and Dan Mullen both spoke with Lewis after the message and they’re ready for him to get back to campus again.

“He’s saying that I have an official visit in December, and he can’t wait,” he said on the message from Hevesy. “Coach Mullen basically said that I did good at Friday Night Lights.

Two schools are recruiting Lewis hard right now but the lineman says right now he only has one official visit scheduled.

“Michigan State and Florida,” Lewis said on the schools talking to him. “Right now, I just plan on taking an official visit to Florida.”

The Gators will head into that official visit with a lead as Lewis says he likes several things about the Gators.

“On top,” he said on where Florida stands for him. “It’s a good program and atmosphere. I just love the fans and it’s really crazy in the Swamp.”
