The Florida Gators hosted several prospects on campus last Saturday for the final junior day of the month and several prospects were from the state of Florida.
Defensive back Kevin Levy (6-0, 170, West Palm Beach, FL. Cardinal Newman) was on campus for the first time on Saturday and got to see everything the Gators have to offer.
“The visit went great,” Levy said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I got to tour the school, see the facility, and take pictures and all of that. I got to sit down and talk with some great coaches after that too.”
Levy got the chance to sit down and talk with all the coaching staff but mainly three coaches who made the visit a good one.
“I talked to Coach Billy Napier, Coach [Corey] Raymond, and the defensive coordinator [Patrick Toney],” he said on the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “It felt great to be around them, they gave me good advice and made me feel like I was at home.”
While on campus, Levy met with Napier who offered the Florida native a scholarship and explained why the Gators liked his game.
“Coach Billy Napier did,” Levy said on the coach who offered him. “He said he feels like I can be a great fit for their program, and he likes my speed and the way I can cover and all of that.”
Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond also spent time with Levy and went over film with the defensive back and explained what Levy does well on the field.
“Basically, the same thing that Coach Napier did,” he said on the message from Raymond. “He said I reminded him of one of his old corners and then we watched film together. He was showing me the technique they use and how they practice.”
Levy and Raymond have been talking a lot recently and the defensive back likes Raymond’s history on the field.
“The relationship we have is great, we talk every day,” Levy said on his relationship with Raymond. “I like how he runs the defensive backs and all that. He has coached a lot of first-rounders.”
After picking up an offer from Florida, Levy says his interest in the Gators is high and he already plans to return to Gainesville for another visit.
“It’s very high,” he said on his interest in Florida. “I think it’s a great program and it will get even better over the next couple of years. I’ll definitely be back in March.”
