Lemon has a good official visit with the Florida Gators

This weekend the Florida Gators hosted three official visitors on campus as they continue to host a lot of visitors in June.

JUCO defensive end Alex Lemon (6-4, 275, San Diego, CA. Mesa College) was one of those visitors on campus this weekend and he liked his time in Gainesville.

“It was a good visit,” Lemon said of his official visit to Gainesville. “I went out to eat, hung out with some of the players and overall I enjoyed my experience here at Florida.”

The Gators put Lemon with a fellow defensive lineman this weekend and he explained to Lemon why Florida is the place for him.

“My host was John [Greenard],” he said on who his player host was this weekend. “He was just saying if I want a place to earn a starting spot then Florida is the place to be. It’s a great city and state.”

This weekend, Lemon also had the chance to talk to several of Florida’s coaches who explained why the Gators need depth on the defensive line.

“Coach [Billy] Gonzales, Coach [Ron] English, Coach [Dan] Mullen and a few others that I can’t remember,” Lemon said on the coaches he talked to this weekend. “They have a great opportunity for me especially with four seniors graduating on the line.”

Defensive line coach David Turner explained to Lemon where the Gators see him playing at if he chooses Florida for college.

“They see me playing defensive end and their BUCK position mainly but I can play all over the line as well,” he said on where Turner sees him playing. “They have a big need especially with a few seniors graduating and they think that this defense will prepare me for the next level.”

The Gators offered Lemon earlier this spring but the JUCO defensive lineman says his relationship is improving with Florida’s coaching staff.

“It’s a good relationship,” Lemon said on his relationship with the coaching staff. “I think they’re a group of men that want to help younger men with a purpose and that’s all you can ask for the most part.”

Now that the visit is over, Lemon still likes a lot about the Gators and he knows when he wants to make a decision.

“It’s still the same, I’m highly interested in every school that has me the opportunity to play at the four year level,” he said of his interest in Florida. “I don’t have any leader though and I’ll be deciding on my birthday, November 15th, it’s the day before our last game.”
