The Florida Gators pulled off a big pickup on Wednesday when they flipped an out of state linebacker from another SEC school.
Linebacker Myles Johnson (6-1, 220, Brewton, AL. T.R. Miller) has committed to Florida after several visits to Gainesville and after leaving the Alabama class last week.
Johnson is a guy that the Gators have turned the heat up on for the last six plus months and they made him feel at home in Gainesville.
“Just the people here, they are just great,” Johnson said on the highlight of his trip. “They really care for you; they care about your success here in every aspect of being a student athlete. They want you to succeed and be the best you can be.”
The Alabama native took an official visit to Florida last month and during that visit he had the chance to really get to know the defensive staff in Gainesville.
“Coach Will, Coach Roberts, Coach Armstrong, we spent a lot of time during the dinners, and we got to talk,” Johnson said. “We got done with meetings today, they just wanted to establish that they really prioritize me. I would want to be somewhere that I’m wanted at. I really appreciate them for making me and my family feel welcome.”
Johnson is the ninth commitment of the Class of 2025 for the Gators and is the third commitment to Florida in the last week joining Joshua Moore and Tae’Shaun Gelsey who both announce commitments earlier this week.
