Lathan says the Florida Gators lead after his virtual visit

On Thursday, the Florida Gators hosted four underclassmen on virtual visits including one instate prospect.

2022 athlete Travious Lathan (6-2, 190, Miami, FL. Gulliver Prep) was one of those who took a visit on Thursday and he enjoyed his visit.

“The visit was amazing,” Lathan said. “I enjoyed my time with Coach [Dan] Mullen and the staff. They gave me tours of the school, I met the coaches, I watched videos and lastly I learned more about the Gators.”

Linebackers coach Christian Robinson has been the main recruiter for Lathan so far and he was explaining what life as a Gator is like.

“He was telling me not what I wanted to hear but what I needed to hear,” he said on the message from Christian Robinson. “He taught me a lot about the school and Gainesville. His message was it’s great to be a Gator and I can build my life at the University of Florida.”

Robinson also explained to the athlete just where the Gators see Lathan playing at if he chooses Florida.

“He sees me as a hybrid linebacker,” Lathan said on where Robinson wants him to play. “I will be all over the place as far as position wise. He wants me to become a Gator and I’m definitely feeling that.”

Head coach Dan Mullen also had a message for Lathan about why Florida is a great school and why he should become a Gator.

“There’s only one school that’s ranked top ten in school and football and it’s the Florida Gators,” he said on Mullen’s message to him. “He said he definitely can’t wait to see me in a Gators uniform.”

After the virtual visit Lathan wasn’t shy about where the Gators now stand in his recruitment.

“They’re ranked number one,” Lathan said on where Florida stands in his recruitment. “I love the tradition, I feel like I would be a force for the Gators on defense.”
