LaFrance hired as director of player personnel

Billy Napier has officially hired Jacob LaFrance as his director of player personnel.

He held the same title for Napier at Louisiana over the last three years. Under his watch, the Ragin’ Cajuns signed the Sun Belt’s top-ranked recruiting classes in 2020 and 2021.

Prior to Louisiana, LaFrance headed the recruiting department at UTSA from 2016-19. Among his duties were prospect evaluation, roster management and assisting with NFL liaisons on visits and research.

He spent 2014 and 2015 as a recruiting analyst at Maryland.

The Baton Rouge native graduated from LSU in 2012, and he worked for the Tigers as a personnel assistant from 2009 to 2014.

On Wednesday, Napier explained that he will have a group of people that will focus on high school recruiting and a group of people that will focus on the college transfer portal. Both of these groups will report to LaFrance, who will oversee the entire operation.
