The Florida Gators will be without starting sophomore cornerback Marco Wilson for the rest of the season. Wilson tore his ACL during the first quarter in a 27-16 loss to Kentucky.
On the opening drive of the game Wilson was covering a receiver on the opposite side of a Kentucky play. Wilson moved back towards the ball and was blocked by Kentucky receiver Dorian Baker. Wilson’s left knee buckled and he fell to the turf. Trainers immediately rushed to his side and started stability tests on his knee. Wilson’s father, Chad, confirmed that Marco suffered a torn ACL on the play.
Thx for all the inquiries and concern. Unfortunately Marco has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Wilson suffered a ACL tear in high school that caused him to miss his junior season.
Florida’s secondary is already thin. Dan Mullen mentioned that Florida is down eight players in the secondary on Saturday night after Wilson’s injury.
“Obviously depth in the secondary is a little bit of a concern for us. That’s a really thin spot for us to start with coming into the season. Quincy Lenton’s out for the year. Shawn Davis has been out. C.J. McWilliams has been out. We lose Marco in the first quarter of this game,” Mullen said. “I think we were down four DBs, of where we’d like our roster to be coming into the season and then four more injured. So we’re down eight DBs going into a game. There’s some concerns.”
