The Florida Gators picked up their 18th commitment of the Class of 2027 on Tuesday morning from an out of state prospect.
Offensive lineman Kennedee Jackson (6-6, 297, Lithonia, GA. High) committed to Florida over Georgia and several other top programs.
“Committed,” Jackson said on social media.
Jackson took an official visit to Florida this past weekend and the energy around the campus and program is what stood out to the offensive lineman.
“Florida really stood out to me because like just the energy, like everywhere I’ve been it’s like it isn’t really like Florida energy,” Jackson said on what stood out about Florida compared to other visits. “The people around have energy.”
While on the visit, head coach Jon Sumrall spent a lot of time around Jackson and made sure to let him know that he was a big priority for the Gators.
“Spending time with the head coach, he was showing love,” he said on the highlight of the trip. “He was saying come to Florida, come change the program. I see the head coach spending the most time with me.”
The Georgia native was scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia before announcing a decision but the Gators’ coaching staff convinced him to go ahead with a decision and cancel other visits.
Jackson joins an offensive line class that includes Maxwell Hiller, Elijah Hutcheson, and Peyton Miller and now the Gators can be picky about who they add as their fifth commit on the offensive line.
