Kanak hopes to visit the Florida Gators following last week’s offer

Last week the Florida Gators expanded their 2022 recruiting when they offered a prospect from the Midwest.

Athlete/receiver Jaren Kanak (6-2, 210, Hays, KS.) has picked a lot of big offers recently and that continued when he heard the news from the Gators head coach last week.

“Coach [Dan] Mullen extended the offer to me,” Kanak said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “I also have been talking to Coach [Billy] Gonzales for a few days. They really like me on the offensive side of the ball and think I’m a very versatile athlete with a great skill set.”

The news of the offer didn’t completely catch Kanak off guard but nonetheless the athlete was excited to pick up an offer from Florida.

“It means a lot, very exciting, I was pumped up,” he said on the offer from Florida. “I somewhat knew it could be on the way because I’ve been talking with Coach Gonzales for a few days and he expressed their interest.”

Receiver’s coach Billy Gonzales has told Kanak that he would be used all over in the Gators’ offense in hopes of getting him the ball a lot.

“He just said that he likes me as a big receiver and I could do a lot,” Kanak said on what Gonzales told him. “We haven’t talked very much about things but I’d assume I’d move around a lot and create mismatches all over the field.”

Kanak says he needs to learn more about the Gators’ program but he does have interest and knows a few things about Florida.

“I’m very interested,” Kanak said of his interest in Florida. “They play at a high level of competition which I like and they have been a very successful program.”

Next up for Kanak will be summer visits and he has one set up already and hopes to make it down to Gainesville as well.

“I would like to this summer,” he said on possibly visiting Florida. “The only other visit I have at the moment is to Clemson on June 1st. I’m getting some set up, would like to get some key visits in before making a final decision.”
