Joshua Moore remains locked in with the Gators after Florida’s week one loss to Miami

The Gators hosted a total of 14 Florida commits and 31 other targets in Florida’s week one loss to the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

Gators’ wide receiver commit Joshua Moore discussed his thoughts after the game and remains locked in with the Gators despite the disappointing loss. The West Broward receiver is a four-star in the Class of 2025 and stands at 6-4, 205 pounds.

“First thing on my mind is that I’m still 100% a Gator man, that doesn’t mean nothing. Just because they lost, that doesn’t mean nothing. I’m still 100% a Gator,” Moore said on his initial thoughts.

The relationships Moore has built with the coaching staff has kept him solid with the Gators, regardless of Saturday’s outcome.

“Billy Gonzales,” Moore said on what has kept him committed. “Everyone has their ups and downs. It’s a minor setback for a major comeback.”

With true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway getting his first snaps as a Florida Gator on Saturday, Moore enjoyed what he saw from his future QB.

“Lagway, he’s the guy. He’s not scared to run the ball if he has to, he’s the guy,” Moore said.

Moore’s biggest takeaway was that the Gators need help. The Pembroke Pines native knows that he can come in and make an immediate impact.

“What I saw with Florida is that they need an outside receiver, and I’m going to come in and be the outside receiver that they need and change the game,” Moore said.

The 2025 receiver prospect remains committed to the Gators but plans to continue his recruiting process and visit other schools in the future. No dates have currently been set.

As a sophomore at West Broward High School, Moore had a breakout season after hauling in a total of 50 receptions for 1,034 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his junior campaign the following season, Moore followed up with another 50 receptions for 835 yards and nine touchdowns.
