Last week several instate offers went out to underclassmen as the Florida Gators coaching staff was all over the state recruiting.
2020 defensive end Morven Joseph (6-3, 210, Lakeland, FL. Lake Gibson) was one of those offered by Florida and he received a message from the Gators assistant coach as well.
“Todd Grantham offered me,” Joseph said on which coach offered him last week. “He just told me loves the way I play and he likes my size and length. We didn’t get to talk much.”
Joseph who has 10 offers already says receiving an offer from the Florida Gators was something he has been waiting on.
“It means a lot,” he said of what the Florida offer means to him. “It was a goal and a dream to get a scholarship offer from Florida.”
The Lakeland prospect didn’t visit the Gators this fall but he watched Florida this year on TV and he was impressed by how Dan Mullen’s team did in year one.
“Their defense played pretty good this year, I think I can fit into that defense,” Joseph said of Florida’s season. “Their season went really well and they played good. I mean they went 10-3 this season compared to last season, they made a big jump.”
Now that the Gators have offered Joseph, the defensive end plans to visit Gainesville and he wants to see a lot of things while in town.
“I’m going to visit this weekend,” he said on when he plans to visit Florida. “I just want to see pretty much everything there.”
INSIDERS TAKE: Joseph has a lot of interest in the Gators but didn’t want to name any leaders at this time. Miami and Texas A&M have recently offered Joseph as well as the Gators.
