Jordan Pouncey breaks down his visit to see the Florida Gators

On Saturday night the Florida Gators not only several prospects but they also hosted a transfer prospect on campus.

Texas receiver transfer Jordan Pouncey was on campus on Saturday with his family and liked the visit to the Swamp.

“It went well,” Pouncey said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “We left at halftime because my mom was getting really tired but it was a good visit. I was with my friends and we went into the locker room and looked around. We didn’t do too much.”

While on campus Pouncey talked with two of Florida’s coaches including defensive backs coach Torrian Gray who he’s very familiar with.

“I talked with Coach [Billy] Gonzales and Coach [Torrian] Gray because he’s recruiting my brother,” he said of the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “They were saying it was nice to see me, Coach Gray was there when I was getting recruited so it was good to see him. It was my first time interacting with Coach Gonzales and it was pretty cool.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales and Gray were both explaining to Pouncey about how bad they need receivers on campus for the 2020 season.

“They were just saying that they have a need at receiver,” Pouncey said on the message from the staff. “They say they don’t have a lot of guys and that they need guys that can play early and that I can potentially be one of those guys.”

Pouncey has watched Florida pretty closely lately and he likes the job Dan Mullen is doing, plus he likes how Mullen is recruiting him.

“Coach Mullen is doing a better job of recruiting me and my family,” he said. “It was a good visit and I’m going to look at them.”

Next up for Pouncey will be more visits but the Texas transfer wasn’t ready to announce those visits just yet.

“Right now I’m not sure, I’m still trying to figure some things out,” Pouncey said on when he may sign with a school. “I don’t really want to talk about any other visits right now but I could possibly take an official visit to Florida.”
