Sophomore running back Jordan Cronkrite returned to the Florida Gators this week after briefly leaving the team.
Cronkrite did not practice last week and did not travel to Jacksonville for the Gators 24-10 win over Georgia last week.
“He’s right now kind of trying to figure out whether he wants to play or not,” McElwain said after the game. “Our door’s always open for him until he finds his way in what he wants to do we’re here to support him.”
Cronkrite allegedly sustained an upper leg injury against Missouri. Cronkrite had to leave that game and returned to the sideline in street clothes for the second half.
“He had been dinged up and things weren’t going his way, you know like we said, we’re here for him and we’ll do anything for him,” McElwain said Wednesday.
McElwain also confirmed that Cronkrite will travel with the team to Fayetteville this Saturday. Junior college transfer Mark Thompson will also be back with the team and traveling to Arkansas. Thompson was suspended last week following a citation for marijuana possession.
The Gators rushed for 100 yards, the second lowest of the season, with just Jordan Scarlett and Lamical Perine available.
