Jones hired as director of speed improvement and skill development

Tiger Jones has been hired as the director of speed improvement and skill development.

He worked for Billy Napier at Louisiana from 2018-20 as an assistant director of strength and conditioning. He worked at Arizona last season as an assistant strength coach.

He began his coaching career at Texas A&M in 2017.

Jones, a Mobile, Alabama, native, played at Louisville from 2000-04. He was a member of the Washington Football Team in 2004.

He then embarked on an eight-year career in the Arena Football League. He caught 1,041 passes for 14,329 yards and 286 touchdowns in his career. He was named First Team All-Arena three times and Second Team All-Arena twice. He was the league’s wide receiver of the year in 2011.

Jones was also invited to training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012.

He joins a strength and conditioning staff at Florida led by Mark Hocke.
