Jones has the Florida Gators “high” in his recruitment

Last Saturday, the Florida Gators hosted several top prospects on campus for junior day including two big-time tight end prospects.

2025 tight end Micah Jones (6-5, 225, Madison, MS. Central) was on campus and enjoyed the different style of visit he had with the coaching staff during junior day.

“I love Florida and the tradition,” Jones said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I liked the visit and there were good vibes around it. It was more of a family-like visit today for me and my family.”

Tight ends coach Russ Callaway has been talking with Jones a lot and he explained how they use the position to the tight end during the junior day visit.

“I like the tight end room, they have a lot of good guys,” Jones said. “They have some good guys coming back from injuries and I know they have one 2024, they have a good set of guys. They use the tight end 100 percent of the time. They like to use two tight ends at times too.”

Jones has been on campus several times already and after Saturday’s visit he says the Gators are in good shape with him.

“Florida is definitely on the top end of my list,” Jones said of where Florida stands. “I don’t officially have a list, but I will towards the spring. I would like to have a decision by the start of the next school year.”

Next up for Jones and Florida will be at least one more visit but the Mississippi native says he may be back to Gainesville sooner.

“I know I will be back here for an official visit, probably this summer,” Jones said on when he plans to return. “I might be back here earlier for the spring.”
