Jones has great interest in the Florida Gators after picking up an offer

Last week, the Florida Gators handed out a few new offers to out of state prospects especially on the offensive side of the ball.

2022 running back Tavorus Jones (6-0, 180, El Paso, TX. Burges) picked up an offer after he talked to the Gators.

“It was from Coach [Greg] Knox,” Jones said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “He said that he liked my playing style and that I’m a versatile back that can also catch.”

Jones now has nine offers but he says picking up an offer from the Gators was a big one to him.

“This offer means a lot to me,” he said. “Florida is a school that I do watch on TV and my reaction was very surprised to get the offer.”

After running backs coach Greg Knox offered Jones, he had a conversation with the running back about how he would fit into Florida’s offense.

“After he offered me, we just had a great conversation about family and how me and him have the same birthday,” Jones said of his talks with Knox. “He said that I would be a great fit in their offensive scheme.”

Jones also had a chance to talk to support staff member last week and he explained why the Gators like his game.

“I also talked to Coach [Jamar] Chaney and we talked about his experience in the NFL,” he said. “He said that I have elite talent and that he loved watching my film.”

Now that Florida has offered Jones, the running back says he has interest in the Gators and wants to visit Gainesville after the dead period.

“I have a great interest in Florida,” Jones said of his interest in Florida. “What I like about them the most so far is the brotherhood that they show and how much of a family they’re. I’m sure I will get to like a lot more things when it comes time for a visit.”
