The good news for the Florida Gators is coming in bunches after they’ve picked up a commitment on Monday, they quickly followed up with another one on Thursday.
Defensive back Jaydon Hill (6-0, 172, Madison, AL. Bob Jones) committed to Florida after his recent visit to Gainesville for Friday Night Lights in July.
When Hill visited Gainesville he talked to several coaches but the thing that stands out to him the most about Florida is its history with defensive backs.
“Playing that position, that’s something you would pay attention to,” Hill said. “They produce my position to the NFL … The DBU holds weight. I can say that, just knowing they’re producing DBs, that holds a lot of weight.”
Hill also heard the message loud and clear from defensive backs coach Charlton Warren about the Gators needing players at his position.
“They say I can come in here and I can play right away as a freshman,” he said. “I can make an impact on this team in the secondary.”
With the commitment from Hill, the Gators now have 15 commits for the class of 2019 and the defensive back is the first commit from the state of Alabama.
Florida has now landed a commitment from the state of Alabama in four straight years after landing Lamical Perine, Kadarius Toney and Malik Langham in previous years.
Hill joins defensive backs Chester Kimbrough, Trent Whittemore, linebackers, Tyron Hopper, Mohamoud Diabate, Diwun Black, Jesiah Pierre and defensive lineman Jaelin Humphries as members of the class on the defensive side of the ball.
