Jackson loved everything about his Florida Gators’ visit on Saturday

On Saturday, the Florida Gators hosted many prospects on campus for the junior day including several prospects that they offered during the trip.

Athlete Amir Jackson (6-5, 210, Portal, GA. High) was on campus for the first time and enjoyed the atmosphere around campus.

“It was good, it was high energy with good people and good vibes,” Jackson said on his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I got to get in the uniforms, take pictures, tour the campus of course, see the facilities and the weight room.”

While on campus, Jackson had the chance to meet the coaching staff including tight ends coach William Peagler who told the athlete where the Gators like him.

“I talked to pretty much all of them,” he said on the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “I talked to the head coach [Billy] Napier, really all of them talked to us. Coach [William] Peagler did too, he was the one who said they liked my size and like me mainly at tight end.”

Jackson met with Napier during the trip, and it was during that conversation that Jackson picked up an offer from the Gators.

“Coach Napier, the head coach did,” Jackson said on the coach who offered him. “He just talked about my situation and what he liked about my game. He was talking to my family and then he said he wanted to offer me. He said they like my athleticism, my skills, and my ability.”

Peagler went over some film with Jackson and explained how the Gators could move the athlete around on the offensive side of the ball.

“He’s a cool funny guy,” he said on meeting with Peagler. “He said that they want to move me around from tight end to wideout, do different things and play all over the field.”

Now that the Gators have offered Jackson, the Georgia native says the Gators will be in the mix until the end.

“It means a lot, Florida will be top 3 or 5,” Jackson said on his interest in Florida. “I loved everything about Florida today and I’m going to get back down there as much as I can because it’s the Gators and I love it.”
