This weekend, the Florida Gators hosted targets from all over the country but one of the most important visitors was from an instate prospect.
Defensive back Andre Hyppolite (6-1, 180, Miami, FL. North Miami Beach) was on campus and enjoying getting to see everything the staff had to offer.
“Spending several days here, it was great,” Hyppolite said of his visit to Florida this weekend. “You know, I’ve seen everything I need to see on campus. It’s a great community, the team is a great team. The coaches, everything you need to see like the facilities, all the resources they have here, you can’t complain about nothing.”
The way the coaching staff treated Hyppolite and his family this weekend stood out to the defensive back, and he knows he’s wanted in Gainesville.
“This visit, just seeing everything they have to offer,” he said on what stood out to him. “Just how they came about things, they didn’t push for me to make a decision, they just let me know like this is what Florida is whether you come here or not. We would love to have you here on our team as a part of this.”
While on campus, several coaches spent a lot of time with Hyppolite and all of them made it known that he’s a priority for the staff.
“I talk to Coach Harris a lot, Coach Collins and Coach White,” Hyppolite said on the coaches he talks to the most. “A lot of them talk to me and they make me like a priority.
Hyppolite and safeties coach Chris Collins spent a lot of time together and the Miami native believes they have a lot in common.
“Just that we’re very similar in ways,” he said on his relationship with Collins. “Nothing was handed to us, we had to go grind for it so I know he’ll pour a lot into me and I trust him a lot. I just know that he’ll make me the best player possible if I come here and hopefully a first round draft pick but just overall like a great gator.”
Next up for Hyppolite will be trips to Miami, Georgia, and Notre Dame but he says the Gators helped themselves this weekend.
“They’re pretty high, very high on my list after this visit,” Hyppolite said on where Florida stands for him. “They were already high on my list from when I first got the offer but you know they talked to me a lot.”
