UF linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper had an interesting Thursday afternoon. After entering the transfer portal, he has now removed his name from the portal, according to several reports.
He finished the 2021 season strong and is in line to start full time in 2022.
He played in all 13 games in 2021 and started four of them. He finished fourth on the team with 65 tackles, third with 10 tackles-for-loss and third with 3 1/2 sacks. He also broke up a couple of passes and forced a fumble.
He turned in the best game of his career against Missouri, racking up 13 tackles, including four behind the line of scrimmage.
Hopper played in 11 of the 12 games in 2020 and made 15 stops in a reserve role. He registered four tackles in a game three times that season, including in the Cotton Bowl against Oklahoma.
He played in the maximum four games to preserve his redshirt in 2019.
The Alpharetta, Georgia, native has three years of eligibility remaining.
