The Florida Gators had several instate prospects in town for the Vanderbilt game two weeks ago as they watched the Gators blowout the Commodores.
One of those players that was in the Swamp was 2021 defensive back Demetrius Hill (6-2, 190, Miami, FL. Spring Senior) who enjoyed his first visit to Gainesville.
“My visit was great, I had a great time in Gainesville,” Hill said of his visit to Florida for the Vanderbilt game. “I got the chance to meet and talk to multiple coaches and started to build a bond with some of the coaches.”
Hill paid close attention to the Gators defense and the play of the defensive backs against Vanderbilt.
“It was a great game and the atmosphere was tremendous,” he said of the game. “The defense was spectacular and the defensive backs had an outstanding performance.”
After the game, Hill had the chance to talk to several of Florida’s coaches who had a quick message to him about the Gators.
“I talked to Coach [Ron] English and Coach Rat [Keiwan Ratliff],” Hill said of the coaches he talked to on Saturday. “They talked to me about Florida from academics to football. They also said they’re glad my family came so the bond between them can start and keep going on.”
Safeties coach Ron English was the one who offered Hill and the two are now trying to build a relationship after meeting on Saturday.
“Coach English was saying he’s glad I was able to come up and that we’re going to build a great bond,” he said on the message from the coaches. “Coach Rat just introduced himself to me and the first thing he said is I have great size.”
Hill admits that having a Florida offer is big to him and he says he has a lot of interest in the Gators program.
“My interest level is very high now,” Hill said of his interest in Florida. “One thing I liked about them on the visit was really the atmosphere.”
