“He’s kind of a legend over there in Duval,” Billy Napier said on Treyaun Webb

It wasn’t the finish many had hoped for after missing out on running back Mark Fletcher last week as he committed to Miami, but Florida has everything they need. Treyaun Webb has made a huge impact on this recruiting class already as a devoted recruiter, and Billy Napier expects the Duval legend to have an even bigger impact on the football field for this high-powered run game.

“Treyaun, to me, what stands out about Treyaun is the instincts, the vision,” Napier said on Webb. “At running back oftentimes I think it’s about production, and he’s been running the ball for a long time. He’s kind of a legend there in Duval. Coming up, he’s always been a guy to put that ball under his arm. He produces. I was pleased with how physical he played. He’s a tough guy. He’s played through some injuries in the past. He’s been a part of a winning program. I think you can never overlook that. And a guy that I think has got a little bit of an edge to him. He catches the ball well. Couldn’t be more excited about Treyaun. He’ll be here early as well.”

Webb, who was a 4-star prospect out of Jacksonville held 46 offers from teams like South Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma and was even committed to Georgia at one point. In the end, the final three teams in the running for the Duval star were Florida and South Carolina, with Penn State being a heavy favorite throughout his entire recruitment process.

In the end, Florida was the team to beat. Webb didn’t just love Florida, but he had a natural attraction towards the school with his uncle Dee Webb being a former Gator defensive back.

In his career Webb has rushed for 3,488 yards while averaging 7.5 yards per carry with 48 total touchdowns to top it off. Webb is a major pick-up for this Florida Gator staff and will fit in just fine with Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne leading the way. In his final season at Trinity Christian Academy, Treyaun Webb accounted for 11 of those touchdowns on 1,117 yards.

Webb won’t be a starting running back at Florida for quite a while given Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne stay healthy. However, the 6-1, 205 pound running back is someone who bleeds the orange and blue and knows that he will eventually get his opportunity.
