Henderson excited to receive a Florida Gators offer

Last week, the Florida Gators had coaches all over the country visiting prospects during the spring evaluation period.

Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray was in Virginia and after visiting 2021 athlete TreVeyon Henderson (5-10, 170, Hopewell, VA. High), the Gators offered the athlete.

“Coach Torrian Gray offered me,” Henderson said. “He was telling me how explosive I was and how I could play either running back or cornerback for them.”

Henderson has 10 offers now but the offer from Florida was a big one to the athlete as he grew up watching the Gators.

“I was excited,” he said on his reaction from the Florida offer. “I knew that they were looking at me but I wasn’t expecting them to offer me. Florida was always a school I grew up watching.”

When Gray offered Henderson last week, the Gators assistant coach explained why Florida likes the 2021 athlete.

“He said that my speed is something that they like,” Henderson said on what Gray said about what the Gators like about his game. “They like how explosive I am and just my size to be in my grade. He said I could play either running back or cornerback, it’s up to me.”

Henderson who plays on both sides of the ball in high school isn’t ready to say which side of the ball he wants to play on in college but several schools are recruiting him for offense.

“I don’t know as of right now,” he said on where he prefers to play. “Most of my offers are for running back so that’s the position that I mainly focus on.”

The Gators and Henderson will be able to talk more about that in the coming months as the athlete wants to visit Gainesville to see Florida for himself.

“I don’t know much about them but I’m taking a visit down there soon,” Henderson said on what all he knows about Florida. “I know that they send a lot of players to the NFL and that they’re a very tough team and I how physical they play. When I take a visit, I hope to find out more and more than just football.”
