Henderson commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their 22nd commitment on Thursday night during the Under Armour All-American game.

Receiver Arjei Henderson (6-2, 190, Richmond, TX. Travis) committed to the Gators over Florida State and others.

“I’ll be heading to the University of Florida,” Henderson said on Thursday night. “This is the finish line, this is the most special to me.”

Henderson who hasn’t visited Gainesville yet has been hearing from everyone on the Florida coaching staff.

“All of them, Coach Mullen, Coach Billy [Gonzales] and Coach O [Otis Yelverton],” he said on the coaches recruiting him from Florida. “They all do a strong job of communicating with me and giving me their pitch.”

The message from the coaching staff has been that they need more guys like Henderson in the program in Gainesville.

“They preach the young talent they have around there,” Henderson said of Florida’s message to him. “They have hard working guys that come to work everyday and they say they need some more of those guys around there.”

Despite not visiting Gainesville this year, Henderson watched a lot of Florida games on TV and he liked Dan Mullen’s offense.

“I love his offense actually,” Henderson said of Mullen’s offense. “They play SEC ball and they run a pro-style offense but they also throw the ball around so that the receivers can have fun as well.”

Henderson now plans to visit Florida in January and he says he could visit other schools like Penn State, Florida State and Tennessee as well.
