Height has the Florida Gators in his top five

Several of the Florida Gators targets have been announcing top groups in their recruitment and on Tuesday that continued.

Linebacker Romello Height (6-5, 210, Dublin, GA. High) announced his top five on Tuesday and that included the Florida Gators.

“Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, Virginia and Arizona State,” Height said when asked who his top five schools were.

Height has been talking to his area recruiter the most from the Gators coaching staff and the relationship is improving according to the Georgia linebacker.

“I talk to Coach John Hevesy often,” he said on the coach from Florida recruiting him. “We talk often but not as much as I think they should be but it’s getting better.”

When Height and Hevesy talk, the Gators offensive line coach has a short message for the 2020 linebacker.

“He’s mainly telling me how great Florida is,” Height said on the message from Hevesy. “He said how good it’s to be a Gator but we haven’t talked much about position.”

Despite not visiting Gainesville yet, Height says a few things have the Gators in his top five already.

“That’s always been a dream school for me,” he said on why Florida made his top five. “I can see myself play there and I love the coaching staff they have down there.”

Height will get his chance to see Gainesville for himself when he visits Florida this spring and he knows what he wants to see while in town.

“I’ll be going down to Florida on April 13th, which is my birthday,” Height said on when he plans to visit Gainesville. “I want to see the campus, and see if I get family vibe. That’s it really.”

INSIDERS TAKE: If Florida turns up the heat on Height then the Gators could potentially land the Georgia linebacker. April’s visit will be key for both Height and Florida.
