The Florida Gators picked up their 13th member of the Class of 2022 on Sunday following a weekend of official visits.
Tight end Hayden Hansen (6-5, 250, Weatherford, TX. High) committed to Florida on Sunday after he visited Gainesville this weekend.
“Gator Nation, Lets Get to work, committed,” Hansen tweeted.
Hansen was originally committed to Billy Napier when he was at Louisiana and on Saturday, he picked up an offer from the Gators before he committed on Sunday.
“It means everything,” Hansen said on what the offer meant to him. “It really shows how much Coach Napier believes in me.”
Tight ends coach William Peagler and Napier have explained to Hansen just how he fits into Florida’s offense.
“As a traditional tight end, my biggest strength is run blocking,” he said on how Florida plans to use him. “I feel like he will see what I can do this summer if I do end up going to Florida, just about how I can set the edge in blocking and how I can go up the field and move the chains too.”
Hansen and his family believe that Napier is going to bring Florida back to the top because of the plans he has put in place as a head coach.
“My family and I, we trust him,” Hansen said on what he likes about Napier. “Honestly seeing ULL before he got there and seeing what he did there in four years is insane. He brought that college and town up from a mid-tier team to a top group of five team. What he did to that place was amazing, me and my family just trust his plans. We believe in his culture and plans.”
Hansen joins tight end Tony Livingston as members of the 2022 class at the tight end position.
