On Saturday, the south endzone of the Swamp was loaded with top prospects including several defensive linemen who wanted to see Florida take on Alabama.
Defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings (6-4, 290, Clearwater, FL. Academy International) was one those in attendance and he liked the atmosphere and noise in the Swamp.
“The visit was great,” Hastings said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “Great atmosphere, great game, they played well. It was unreal, crazy atmosphere. Big game so the atmosphere is going to be crazy.”
Hastings noticed that the Gators defensive line was able to get a push against Alabama’s offensive line during the game.
“The defensive line played well,” he said. “They held their own, they did well.”
Defensive line coach David Turner explained to Hastings during his visit where he would play at if he chooses Florida for college.
“He wants me to play everywhere,” Hastings said on where Turner sees him playing. “Basically, playing everywhere like Zach Carter.”
The relationship between Turner and Hastings has grown over the last several months and the lineman calls it a good one.
“We have a good relationship,” he said on his relationship with Turner. “We talk a lot; we have a good relationship. He’s a great guy, we get along pretty well.”
Four schools in particular are recruiting Hastings hard as the lineman gets ready to start taking official visits.
“Oregon, Michigan, Georgia, and Florida,” Hastings said of schools recruiting him hard. “I have an official on the 15th to Oregon. I’m not sure on when I will visit [Florida] again, probably December.”
