Harris calls the Swamp “the best atmosphere” he has seen

The Florida Gators showed an impressive running game on Saturday, and it was in front of several of Florida’s top offensive line targets.

Offensive lineman Eston Harris Jr (6-6, 290, Auburn, AL. High) was on campus and he enjoyed his time in Gainesville.

“It was pretty good, it was a pretty good visit,” Harris said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I liked the way Florida played. They’ve always been in my top since they offered me, and I just really liked the way they competed against Bama.”

Harris has been to several games around the country the last few years and he says the Swamp was the loudest stadium he has been too.

“It’s loud, that’s the best atmosphere I’ve been in,” he said on the crowd noise. “I’ve never been in any place that was that loud before.”

After watching the Gators on Saturday, Harris says he believes Florida is one of the best teams in the country.

“Florida is one of the top teams in the SEC and in college football now,” Harris said on his reaction to Florida’s efforts on Saturday. “I think they’re going to be pretty great this year. It shows progression that they’ve said we’re going to work on this and get better at it.”

Offensive line coach John Hevesy has built a good relationship with Harris and the lineman said he enjoyed working with him over the summer.

“Coach Hevesy, he’s really not a pressuring type of guy,” he said on the message from Hevesy. “He’s more of building a relationship with me and talking, talking on the phone. Learning about me and seeing how we are. I went to a camp with him to see how he coaches and teaches things. I learned a lot from him and we’re building a pretty solid relationship.”

Hevesy has also explained to Harris just how he would fit into the Gators offense if he was to come to Gainesville.

“He told me he would start me off at tackle because of my athletic ability,” Harris said on where Hevesy wants him to play. “He said he would teach me guard and teach me how to snap.”

Harris says two schools are standing out to him right now, but the lineman says he’s focused on his high school who’s 5-0 on the year.

“Florida and Auburn,” he said on schools standing out for him. “I really go by the week, so I don’t have any [visits] planned but of course I’m going to go somewhere [to visit]. I really just been focusing on my season.”

Next up for Harris will be official visits as the lineman plans to early enroll and he says Dan Mullen will work with him on scheduling one to Florida.

“Coach Mullen said they weren’t really doing officials during the season, but he said he would try and figure something out,” Harris said on taking officials. “Just because the time I’m signing [December].”

INSIDERS TAKE: Harris said he will most likely be back for another game at Florida.
