Grubbs says his Florida Gators visit changed where UF sits with him

Over the last few weeks, the Florida Gators have hosted several of their top quarterback targets on campus including a few 2026 quarterbacks.

2026 quarterback Noah Grubbs (6-4, 205, Lake Mary, FL. High) was on campus earlier this week and he says the visit was big for him in his recruitment.

“Florida’s trip was much needed in my recruitment,” Grubbs said of his visit to Florida. “I haven’t spent a lot of time recently communicating with them, so it was nice to finally be on campus and in the coach’s presence.”

Grubbs has been on campus before, but this time was an extended stay on campus, and he was able to see everything the staff has in place for their players.

“The major difference in this visit at Florida was the time I spent with the strength staff,” he said. “They truly value developing the quarterback position and there’s a specific coach that strictly works the quarterbacks only and that’s extremely important.”

The 2026 quarterback also got the chance to watch practice on Tuesday and he enjoyed seeing the coaching staff in action and seeing the quarterback play.

“I loved the tempo of the offense and [Graham] Mertz is really fun to watch, and I see a lot of myself in him,” Grubbs said of Florida’s practice. “He’s in complete control of the offense and I love how he processes things in his progression. The offense dominated during the time I was there so that excites me. Coach [Billy] Napier is a fun coach to play for from my observations and I love how Coach [Ryan] O’Hara develops quarterbacks during practice.”

Offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara spent a lot of time with Grubbs off the field explaining to him how his game fits what they want to run at Florida.

“In my 1 on 1 time with Coach [Ryan] O’Hara he broke down my game,” Grubbs said. “He compared it to Anthony Richardson throw for throw and it was great to hear how much he loved that I’m able to make all the throws, so it opens up the offense for me.”

Head coach Billy Napier impressed Grubbs during the visit by his message on how he wants to build up the program.

“After spending more 1 on 1 time with Coach Napier, I really love the vision he has for Florida,” he said of his talks with Napier. “I love how he talks about real change in culture, and I think he’s doing a great job of it, and he wants to recruit not just quality players but quality young men. I can really see myself playing for those guys.”

After the visit, Grubbs admits that the Gators improved their chances with him as several schools are high on his list right now.

“The visit changed a lot for me on where Florida is in my top schools,” Grubbs said of Florida. “They’re in my top for sure. Right now, my top schools are Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Auburn, UCF, UNC, Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois and Virginia Tech.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Grubbs says he wants to have a decision by the end of July if possible.
