Green has a lot of interest in the Florida Gators

On Thursday, the Florida Gators handed out a new 2020 offer out when they went into the JUCO ranks to offer the latest prospect.

JUCO cornerback Art Green (6-2, 200, Chesterfield, MO. Hutchinson JUCO) picked up the offer from the Gators.

“The DB coach, Coach [Torrian] Gray offered me,” Green said of which coach from Florida offered him. “He’s a real cool dude and we just chatted about my family back home and just talked about my athletic abilities and where they can take me at.”

Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray explained to Green why the Gators wanted to offer the corner.

“He said they offered me off of my game film,” he said on Gray’s message to him. “He said he saw how raw I was and when I get coached up and polished up that it can most likely take me to the next level.”

Gray also explained to Green where Florida could use the cornerback at if he chooses the Gators for college.

“He said they want me at corner,” Green said on where Florida likes him at. “He said I would be a great fit just because of my size and how I can move. He really just talked about my playmaking ability.”

Green holds 20 offers already but he admits that getting an offer from Florida is a big one.

“This offer means a lot to me,” he said on what the offer means to him. “Florida is a place my family loves and a place I like a lot. I was super shocked by the offer.”

The JUCO cornerback knows former Gators safety Nick Washington and his brother well and they talked to Green about Florida.

“I have found out a lot about Florida since my friend [James Washington] who used to play there has been talking to me about it,” Green said on what he knows about Florida. “He talks about the defensive backs a lot and who all that has went to the draft and stuff like that.”

Now that the Gators have offered Green, the JUCO corner admits that he likes Florida a lot but another SEC rival is recruiting him the hardest.

“My interest level with Florida is high and I really like them,” he said of Florida. “I would have to say Tennessee has been recruiting me the hardest out of everybody.”

INSIDERS TAKE: Green says he’s planning on visiting Florida on May 11th and that it will likely be an official visit for the JUCO cornerback.
