Green enjoys the detailed message of his Florida Gators virtual visit

Last week, the Florida Gators spent a majority of time working on a plan to get players back on campus but they also fit in a few virtual visits as well.

2022 tight end Donovan Green (6-4, 210, Dickinson, TX. High) was one of those visits and he enjoyed seeing everything Florida has to offer.

“It was really good, they showed me almost every facility they had,” Green said of his virtual visit to Florida. “They showed me where they eat, the locker room, the stadium, the locker room, the training room and the weight room.”

Green says the facilities and hearing the Gators coaching staff’s message about his game is what stood out to him during the visit.

“What stood out is they were so detailed about every facility they had,” he said on what stood out to him. “I talked to a lot of people like the offensive coordinator, the head coach and the strength coordinator about the program.”

Strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage spent a lot of time talking with Green about how he can help the tight end’s game.

“I liked that his message was that my position is unique and they train every position differently,” Green said on his thoughts on Nick Savage. “He was explaining that I need to be trained a specific way to play my role to the best of my ability.”

Tight ends coach Tim Brewster explained to Green just how his game fits what Florida does on offense.

“They see me as a good fit for them,” he said on the message from Florida. “They know how to use a tight end right and they plan on putting me all over the field and exposing the defense.”

Head coach Dan Mullen also explained the fit but also why Florida is the place to be for college.

“He just said that Florida is a great to be and that I’m needed,” Green said on Mullen’s message to him. “He said they can get me where I want to go and that I’m an amazing catcher and can also get down and block.”

After the visit, Green says the Gators are in the mix for his signature with several other schools.

“I like them a lot,” he said on his interest in Florida. “Washington, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State, Houston and Clemson are also recruiting me hard.”
