Green believes the Florida Gators will rebound from the USF loss

The Florida Gators lost a disappointing game to USF on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd in the Swamp, including many commits and targets.

Offensive line commit Desmond Green (6-4, 354, St. Stephen, SC, Timberland) was in the Swamp on Saturday, and he believes the team will rebound next week in Baton Rouge.

“You know it wasn’t a bad time, but at the same time, the outcome, you know, should have been different,” Green said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I believe they’ll bounce back next week; they did it last year, and I know they’ll be able to do it this year.”

The South Carolina native knows that this team won’t quit, and he knows that Billy Napier will fix the things that went wrong on Saturday.

“This ain’t the type of team that just rolls over and quits,” he said. “They’ll come back with a vengeance, they’ll come back with a chip on their shoulder next week. They care, you know, and Coach Napier will address things, you know, he saw things that went wrong and whatnot.”

Green was able to see the team after the game, and he noticed how the team stuck together instead of pointing fingers at each other.

“You don’t see everybody just scatter off as individuals, you see everybody just sticking together,” Green said of the mindset of the team after the game. “That’s the best thing that comes out of losses. I feel like today [Saturday] was making them make the call to get it done next week and the week after that. It’s just a matter of time until we see it.”

Despite the loss, Green says his commitment to Florida isn’t changing, and he plans to be in the Swamp when the Gators return in a few weeks.

“Oh yeah, I’m sticking,” he said on his commitment. “I’ll be back for Texas.”
