Graham enjoys meeting new defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong

Two weeks ago, the Florida Gators hosted one of their top commits on campus for a multi-day visit and he was able to meet the new members of the coaching staff.

Linebacker commit Myles Graham (6-1, 212, Atlanta, GA. Woodward Academy) was on campus and enjoyed seeing the staff and watching practice.

“It was amazing, I had a great time,” Graham said of his visit to Florida two weeks ago. “I couldn’t have asked for a better visit with those guys, I got to spend a few days down there building relationships with all of them. It was nice.”

This was the first time Graham to meet new defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong and the first impression was a good one for the Gators’ commit.

“He has a great football mind,” he said on his first impressions of Austin Armstrong. “I can see myself learning from him and making plays under him. He’s a great dude too and I appreciate him and everything he does. I like him and the guys love him.”

After meeting with Armstrong, Graham watched practice and was impressed by the new defensive coordinator and how practice was run.

“Practice was good, high energy and high tempo,” Graham said of practice. “A lot of intensity out there, it was fun to watch. The energy and how the guys were focused is what really stood out to me.”

Graham has been solid with the Gators since he committed and that hasn’t changed as the linebacker is recruiting several guys to join him.

“This visit helped things out for sure,” he said on his commitment staying solid despite the change at defensive coordinator. “For me, I’m recruiting several guys to join us. I’m recruiting Elijah Rushing, Ethan Calloway, and another lineman named Fletcher [Westphal] and a few more guys.”

When Graham talks to other recruits about the Gators, he has a simple message about why they should come to Florida.

“I just tell them that Florida has the best of both worlds,” Graham said on his message to recruits. “I’m trying to get them to join me.”
