Georgia Tech TE Luke Harpring commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators’ offense struggled last season and new head coach Jon Sumrall and offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner have put in the work this month to add talent on that side of the ball.

On Friday, Georgia Tech tight end transfer Luke Harpring announced that he has committed to the Florida Gators after visiting Gainesville on Friday.

Harpring brings experience to the tight end room and also very familiar with Faulkner’s system as well as new quarterback Aaron Philo who also transferred in from the Yellow Jackets.

This past season Harpring caught 13 passes for 158 yards while starting one game for Georgia Tech. As a freshman Harpring played in just four games and caught 3 passes for 43 yards while keeping his redshirt.

Harpring joins tight end Lacota Dippre who transferred to Florida from James Madison earlier this month as new tight ends coach Evan McKissack looks to improve a tight end room that struggled in 2025.

With the commitment of Harpring, the Gators have now added four Georgia Tech transfers to the roster in Philo, offensive lineman Harrison Moore, and receiver Bailey Stockton.

This alone should help the offense as these guys will be able to help others with the terminology of the offense.
