Gavin Hill commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators has added to their 2023 class on Saturday night when a local prospect committed to Florida.

Defensive lineman Gavin Hill (6-3, 255, Gainesville, FL. Buchholz) committed to Florida after he picked up an offer from the Gators earlier this month.

“We staying home,” Hill said on his instagram. “I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Florida. Go Gators.”

Hill worked out for Florida in early June and earned the offer after the camp as the Gainesville native worked out with the defensive line but also got reps at the tight end position.

The Gainesville native had a big junior season as he collected 19 tackles including nine tackles for a loss and three sacks. Hill played mainly tight end as a sophomore and caught 10 passes for two touchdowns.

Hill is teammates with current Gators commit Creed Whittemore and should be a big help in recruiting for the 2023 class.

With the commitment of Hill, the Gators now have eight commits in the class and he joins outside linebacker Isaiah Nixon as both prospects committed to Florida this week.
