Gators’ snap counts in Las Vegas Bowl

The Florida Gators were able to play 42 scholarship players in the Las Vegas Bowl, some of whom received their first significant snaps all season.

Gator Country provides the official snap counts from the Gators’ loss to Oregon State.

QUARTERBACK

57- Jack Miller

With Anthony Richardson and Jalen Kitna not with the team, Jack Miller got the start and played the entire game.

RUNNING BACK

29- Trevor Etienne

28- Montrell Johnson

The only two scholarship running backs on roster got all the work on Saturday afternoon. Etienne out snapped Johnson, which hasn’t been the norm this season. I expect these two to be a true 50-50 split in 2023.

WIDE RECEIVER

46- Ricky Pearsall

31- Caleb Douglas

31- Xzaiver Henderson

25- Ja’Quavion Fraziars

21- Kahleil Jackson

07- Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman

I think you got a great look at what next year’s WR room consists of. Ricky Pearsall has yet to decide on the NFL, and that could be the most important decision of the offseason for the Gators.

Walk-on Kahleil Jackson logged 21 snaps in the contest. Caleb Douglas received significant playing time once again, which bodes well for the true freshman’s future.

TIGHT END

34- Dante Zanders

26- Jonathan Odom

06- Arlis Boardingham

01- Noah Keeter

We got our first look at true freshman tight end Arlis Boardingham on Saturday. He only played in six snaps, but it was nice to see Boardingham in the game after battling through injuries all season. The future of the TE room is unclear and Boardingham could have an impact next season.

OFFENSIVE LINE

57- Kamryn Waites

57- Ethan White

57- Michael Tarquin

57- Kingsley Eguakun

43- Austin Barber

14- Richard Gouraige

Kam Waites logged more snaps in this game than he had all season (40). Richie Leonard was absent with an injury.

Tarquin and Barber were the go-to tackles against Oregon State. I expect those two to start in 2023.

DEFENSIVE LINE

56- Antwuan Powell-Ryland

46- Gervon Dexter

41- Princely Umanmielen

32- Desmond Watson

27- Chris McClellan

25- Tyreak Sapp

18- Jack Pyburn

18- Justus Boone

15- Jamari Lyons

02- David Reese

01- Byrce Capers

The Gators worked in 11 different players along the defensive line. Jamari Lyons set a season high in snaps and Jack Pyburn tied his season high. I loved that Napier played Pyburn over David Reese, despite Reese being higher on the depth chart. One has a promising future with Florida, and one is in the transfer portal. That was the right decision for the program.

LINEBACKER

48- Shemar James

48- Amari Burney

37- Derek Wingo

27- Scooby Williams

CORNERBACK

67- Jason Marshall

55- Jaydon Hill

35- Jadarrius Perkins

14- Jordan Young

This was probably the smallest rotation we’ve seen all season long for the cornerbacks. Avery Helm was not in attendance, Tre’Vez Johnson was OUT with an injury, and Jalen Kimber didn’t appear in the game.

SAFETY

64- Trey Dean

48- Rashad Torrence

17- Kamari Wilson

07- Miguel Mitchell

It was Rashad Torrence losing snaps to Kamari Wilson on Saturday.
