The Gators are ranked No. 13 in the Associated Press preseason poll, which was released on Monday.
UF was previously selected as the No. 11 team in the country by the panel of coaches that includes Dan Mullen.
This is the third consecutive year that the Gators are ranked in the preseason by the AP. They were eighth in each of the past two seasons.
Alabama was voted the No. 1 team in the AP poll by a wide margin, receiving 47 of the 63 first-place votes. Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia round out the top-5.
In-state rival Miami came in right behind Florida at No. 14, while Florida State didn’t receive any votes. There are five SEC teams in the top-25, and two more teams received votes.
UF will face Alabama, Georgia and No. 16 LSU this season.
