Gators’ LB commit Myles Johnson provides thoughts on win over Kentucky

The Gators hosted over 15 top prospects last weekend during Florida’s 48-20 win over the Kentucky Wildcats.

Florida linebacker commit Myles Johnson was one of four 2025 commits in attendance Saturday night and got to experience his first win in The Swamp this season. Johnson feels better about his commitment after the win and getting the chance to contact the staff. The 6-1, 220-pound Alabama native is an underrated three-star prospect in the Class of 2025 that has been committed to Florida since July.

“I still feel good about it, this win has made me feel a whole lot better about it,” Johnson said. “Just staying in touch with the coaches and seeing how they are makes me feel much better about it.”

Johnson was impressed with the crowd and the intensity this defense put on display Saturday night.

“It was a great atmosphere from start to finish. I feel like the guys came out to play and they got the job done tonight,” Johnson said. “You know, obviously the crowd gets more involved when you’re leading, and the energy is just there. It’s just more exciting.”

Johnson seemed to be excited about how the defense flipped a different switch against the Wildcats. Players were flying around all night and the mental mistakes were limited.

“I think they are better gelled together,” Johnson said on the defense. “They don’t have as many mental mistakes as they’ve had, and they are flying around. They are always flying around but tonight they really put it together. It’s a team that wants to prove to the world that they are who they are, and they showed that tonight.”

2025 Gators LB commit Myles Johnson plans to return to Gainesville for more games this season but isn’t sure about taking more visits with any other teams. Georgia and Ole Miss are the only two teams to worry about in Johnson’s recruitment as of now.
