Gators drop in one poll, stay put in the other

It appears that the voters for the two major weekly polls have differing opinions of the Gators’ 31-29 loss to No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Florida dropped two places to No. 11 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll. Notre Dame and Penn State jumped them despite the Fighting Irish looking unimpressive for the third week in a row.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press Poll voters were apparently more impressed with the Gators’ performance, as UF remained at No. 11 in the poll even with the loss.

The Gators will try to shake off the loss to the Crimson Tide when they take on Tennessee on Saturday at 7. The Volunteers (2-1) received two votes in the coaches poll following their blowout of Tennessee Tech.

Florida has won 15 of the last 16 meetings in the series, including four in a row.
