Gators Center Jake Slaughter Earns 2025 Second Team All-American Honors

Redshirt senior center Jake Slaughter earned All-American honors from the Walter Camp Foundation, being named a Second Team All-American following the ESPN College Football Awards Show.

The Walter Camp Foundation is the first of five organizations to release its All-American team, honoring 52 players. The remaining selectors: Associated Press (Dec. 15), American Football Coaches Association (Dec. 16), Sporting News (Dec. 17), and Football Writers Association of America (Dec. 18) will follow. The NCAA will announce the Consensus All-America team on Dec. 19.

Slaughter first earned All-American honors last season, highlighted by a First Team selection from the Associated Press, which secured him a commemorative brick outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

On Tuesday, Slaughter garnered First Team All-SEC recognition. The 6’5, 303-pound center was also named to Pro Football Focus’ 2025 All-SEC team, earned Second Team All-American honors from USA Today and The Athletic, and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy during the 2025 season.

“I think what makes Jake special is he’s a people person,” Redshirt senior guard Damieon George said on Slaughter. “He’s all in for his teammates and he’s the best, I feel like he’s the best in the country at the position. He’s just all for his teammates. He’s got my back every day and I know I’ve got his back because he’s gonna lay it on the line for his guys every time.”

“I feel like he’s put it all together. He’s put great technique on film and he’s just a leader on the O-Line. He leads our team,” George added.

Slaughter started all 12 games for the Gators and logged 748 snaps in 2025, the second most on the team. Slaughter allowed just one sack, one QB hit, and two quarterback hurries in 422 pass blocking snaps. The Sparr, Florida native graded as the best pass blocking center in the SEC while ranking eighth nationally, according to Pro Football Focus.

Slaughter’s overall PFF grade of 78.7 ranks fourth nationally among centers, and his run-blocking grade also comes in at fourth.
